Orquesta Gaos
Born in April 2009 and integrated by musicians from all over Galicia --mostly students and teachers at the main Galician conservatories—, this orchestra has as it goal to disseminate Galician music talent in this area.
Orquesta Nova da Sinfónica de Galicia
With a career spanning for over ten years, this orchestra has already been confirmed as one of the most original educational projects of the Spanish music scene.
The new instrumentalists making up this ensemble receive exhaustive music training supported by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, and they receive master classes that have been attended by names carrying such weight as Wolfgang Klos, Anne Gastininel or Mario Brunello. The orchestra covers a wide repertoire, ranging from baroque music to more contemporary sounds.
Leo Nucci, baritone
Leo Nucci has written history wherever he went.
Suffice to say that last year he became the first baritone ever to perform an encore in the middle of an opera at the Teatro Real of Madrid. But what seemed impossible has gone one step further and this very year, on the same stage, Nucci was cause for true delirium among the audience, achieving the first two consecutive encores in the history of Madrid’s coliseum with the same aria, “Sì, vendetta” from the opera Rigoletto.
14th Chamber Series of the Asociación Galega de Compositores (AGC)
The programme of this Holy Year recovers the Chamber Series of the Asociación Galega de Compositores through four programmes aimed at offering a broad perspective on the Galician contemporary keyboard, Galician contemporary string quartet and quintet, the wind quintet with piano in Galician music and heterogeneous current chamber groups.
The Grupo Instrumental SXX and the pianist Javier Vázquez Grela, among other interpreters, will intervene in these series where the work of some of today’s most remarkable Galician composers will be presented.
Orquesta de Cámara Galega (OCGA)
Established in 1995, the Orquestra de Cámara Galega (OCGA) made its debut in the 44th edition of the Opera Festival in A Coruña. Since then it presents a repertoire which covers different eras and styles, from the early Baroque to present times, with particular emphasis put in contemporary authors. In this line, its activity has been linked since 2003 to the study and dissemination of the work of Rogelio Groba Groba, channeled through close and constant collaboration with Fundación R. Groba.
